Our Story
Our candle making journey began in 2018! Our founder Simone would make candles for her family and friends to destress from the crazy world we live in. Candle making was a hobby for her that would ultimately turn into Sunkissed by Simone.
At Sunkissed by Simone, we work to create environments of peace, serenity and love. Our motto is 'happiness starts with a positive mindset'. Take time for yourself! Know that you are beautiful, powerful, intelligent, strong, magical, loved and sun-kissed. To be sun-kissed is to be made warm and brown by the sun. And sis, you are glowing. But remember, self-care is so important and often overlooked.
Our candles and spa sets are intentionally designed to assist people in creating time for themselves. Made with love and melanin magic, all of our products are sustainable, organic, vegan, cruelty-free, and phthalate-free. Candles are hand-poured using all natural, vegan coconut soy wax and fragrance oils while also using cotton wicks.
Dedicated to improving the health and well-being of black women, Simone has worked to decrease racial disparities in health. As a birth and postpartum doula, Simone understands that stress can have a significant impact on health. While we welcome all allies and support systems, our products were made with the goal to create stress free spaces for black women. The stress that causes the most negative effect on Black women is chronic stress which is ongoing. As a result of this, Black women’s bodies may produce more cortisol (the stress hormone).
